FUL, a female founded, science-backed food company, introduced its first product: FULwater, created with its nutrient-rich, spirulina ingredient, but without a strong algae taste, it says.

“Our first product, FULwater, highlights the benefits of our proprietary ingredient — FULBlue, which our scientists have transformed into this powerhouse beverage, a first of its kind spirulina product with no bitter aftertaste,” said Julia Streuli, FUL Foods CEO, in a statement.

The FULwater Detox beverage contains the equivalent of protein in 20 grams of broccoli, fiber in 6 almonds, and potassium in 1 cup of coconut water, the company notes. Available in three flavors — White Peach, Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber, and Lemon & Ginger — each can of FULwater contains vitamin C, calcium, chlorophyll, B2 vitamins, potassium, and more, with only 25 calories a can, it says.

Packaged in 12-ounce cans, the new low calorie, vegan and non-GMO, FULwater Detox drinks are available to order online in a six-pack for $23 with nationwide shipping in the United States, and at select retailers in Los Angeles, including Erewhon.  As the brand expands, it also is exploring retail and food service partners to integrate the ingredient into a variety of products, including smoothies, juices, and snacks, it says.
